March 03 - Out of the many diseases Rabies is one of the dangerous diseases. It is one of the common disease of dogs and other animals. Rabies virus attack nerve cells and salivary glands of dogs, fox, cat and other animals. This disease is transmitted to human beings through these rabies infected animals.
The dog or man infected with rabies virus has fear of water. Thus these disease also called hydrophobia or simply waterphobia. To prevent from these disease antirabies vaccines should be taken. If a dog infected with rabies virus bites a man, the virus enters the tissue. Minly Headache, restlessness, muscle spasm and difficulties in swallowing are its symptoms.
