Nepal, 20 Feb - Maoist Chair Puspa Kamal Dahal has underlined the need of promoting domestic production to national economy self-reliant.

Addressing a meeting of the party production department at the party's central office, Parisdanda, Thursday, leader Dahal said cooperative business should be run effectively to push a socialist economy.

Attaining economic progress was vital to institutionalize political change in the country, he said, adding Nepal’s constitution has adopted socialism and further economic policy and action plan be formulated according to this.

Political transition that was long prevalent in the country came to an end with the promulgation of the new constitution, he said. In view of leader Dahal, politics unattached with production and economy deviated from socialism are insignificant.

In the meeting, party standing committee member and production department Chief Lokendra Bista presented a working paper on ‘Production Labor’. Discussions on the paper will be held on Saturday, Department Member Keshab Nepal said.
